According to the Turkish Statistical Institute the number of residential properties sold to foreigners in 2018 has increased by 78,5% compared to 2017. The news has pleased the Turkish real estate industry experiencing a slow down in the domestic demand.

According to Mr. Levent Kineşci, president & CEO of ETU Homes, one of the main reasons to the rise is the already attractive prices supported by a general discount campaign the industry initiated all over Turkey during the second half of 2018.

The expectations of the industry for 2019 and coming years are now trending to a more optimistic direction, Mr. Kineşci added.

Number of citizen from more than 9 countries having purchased Turkish residential properties have increased with more than 100%. The total number of properties sold to foreigners in 2018 became 40.044 against 22.428 in 2017.
